Are you a cleaning and security professional who is looking for more meaning in your work?
We are looking for a motivated, hard-working and enthusiastic Security/Concierge to join our team at New Athens Creek, an independent senior living residence in Penticton.
As a Security/Concierge, you are a caretaker of this vision – responsible for night shift janitorial and safety/security duties to create a safe, tidy and pleasant environment for residents. This includes:
- Cleaning and sanitizing common area amenity spaces
- Recycling and garbage removal from common areas
- Performing laundry services for residents as needed
- Receiving incoming telephone calls and responding accordingly
- Greeting and screening visitors at all building entry points
- Security patrol of community and monitoring of video surveillance system to ensure resident and staff safety throughout the night.
- Responding to emergency calls from residents, providing first aid and contacting 911 if required
- Reporting all security breaches, unusual occurrences, or emergencies and ensuring they are communicated to the day staff

- You have at least two years of janitorial/housekeeping experience, preferably in the hospitality or seniors living industry
- You have a grade 12 education or equivalent
- You have good knowledge of security procedures; Building Security Training is an asset. Completion of Building Services Worker Program is an asset
- You have successfully completed the WHMIS program
- You have current First Aid & CPR certification and the ability to respond to emergencies effectively. Health Care Aide qualification would be considered an asset
- You can effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
- You pride yourself on excellent attention to detail and work to the highest cleaning standards.
- You’re able to self-direct and work effectively with minimal supervision.
- You understand and respect the needs of seniors, their families, and other professional services engaged with our residents
At New Athens Creek we require a Criminal Record Check, and a TB test within the first month of employment.
