Executive Chef

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and reliable Executive Chef to join our award-winning team and lead the opening of our new community in White Rock – Oceana PARC. As the Executive Chef you will work closely with the General Manager and department managers to open our biggest community yet!

Executive Chef Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the General Manager on aspects of the food services department;
  • Menu planning and development, for daily meals and special events;
  • Manage food orders, inventory and cost control effectively, for BOH;
  • Staff management: including scheduling, performance management and training;
  • Work collaboratively with management and team to ensure consistent service excellence;
  • Additional duties during pre-open, including but are not limited to: Recruiting, hiring and orienting team members, community outreach, special event catering and working in tandem with all managers to ensure a seamless opening experience for residents and employees.

Executive Chef Skills and Experience:

  • Diploma/certificate in food services management and Red Seal certification or equivalent;
  • Five years of experience in a leadership role in a hotel, restaurant or seniors living environment;
  • Proven expertise in developing, leading and motivating a high-performing team;
  • Experience in recruiting, training, scheduling and managing staff;
  • Outstanding communication and relationship building skills;
  • Expertise in menu planning, knowledge of and experience in all kitchen equipment and operations;
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment;
  • Knowledge and experience in food purchasing, inventory and budget control;
  • A passion food and empathy for seniors and their families;
  • Food Safe Level 2 and First Aid Level 1 with CPR certificates required.
