Painter / Building Maintenance Worker (part-time)

2 days/week, Sundays & Mondays - with additional shifts as required

We have an exciting opportunity for a hardworking and motivated Painter/Building Maintenance Worker at Summerhill PARC , our community in the heart of Lonsdale , North Vancouver .

In this role you will be responsible for performing a wide variety of maintenance duties such as; refurbishing suites - including minor drywall, painting, plumbing and electrical repairs, carpet shampooing, cleaning as well as performing handyman services for the residents. This role has a strong emphasis on painting.

Candidate Profile:

  • Grade 12 completion with a minimum of three years’ relevant experience in the hotel or senior living industry
  • Experience in plumbing, heating, painting , electrical, and basic carpentry
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and operations an asset
  • Current first aid and CPR certification
  • Completion of Building Services Worker Program is an asset
  • Successful completion of the WHMIS program
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-directed with the ability to solve problems effectively and make decisions using sound judgment
  • Positive and cooperative attitude
  • Empathy for and understanding of the needs of seniors
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to employees, residents, visitors, service providers and the public
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations
  • Adaptable to change

Shifts : Sunday & Monday, 8am – 4pm (7 ½ hours each day). Set 15 hours per week + additional shifts as required.
