PARC Retirement Living is an award-winning developer and operator of independent senior-living communities. We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Wellness Consultant to provide health and wellness services to our residents at our Cedar Springs PARC team in North Vancouver.

As a Wellness Consultant, you’re a key member of our Active Living team and you support residents to maintain an independent lifestyle that values safety and quality of life.

You’re also responsible for:

  • Leading and participating in the team approach to support residents and their family.
  • Serving as liaison to families in all matters regarding residents’ health and wellbeing.
  • Providing pre-move in screening for prospects.
  • Promoting health and wellness in our community by offering clinics, classes, and other educational resources.
  • Liaising with health authorities, families, and residents during move out process of residents.
  • Working very closely with the General Manager and Resident Services Manager, supporting timely communication and resolution of resident issues.
  • Working as a partner with the sales team to provide health and wellness expertise during the sales process.
  • Educating and informing residents and families regarding available support systems and community resources; providing information about external resources – public and private – and assisting in developing transition care plans.
  • Organizing, facilitating, and providing immunization programs as needed.
  • Assisting with move-ins and move-outs, and ensuring new residents feel welcome and comfortable.

It takes a special kind of person to work here – does this sound like you?
  • You have a Health Care degree and a minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar work environment.
  • You have direct experience working with seniors. Home-care, wellness, and holistic-health education or experience would be assets, too.
  • You have in-depth knowledge of the aging process and related physiology and psychology and risk factors.
  • You’re a problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-facing work environment.
  • You’re an effective communicator who is capable of fostering strong interpersonal relationships with residents, their families, and employees.
  • You’re committed to continuous learning and development and fostering the growth of your people.
  • You’re a customer service star, who can make our residents, prospects, and families feel right at home.
  • You have a valid class 5 driver’s licence.

At PARC Retirement Living we understand the importance of immunization to protect our residents, team members and visitors from COVID-19. A such, a prerequisite of employment is that all new hires are fully vaccinated as approved by Health Canada. We also require a Criminal Record Check, and a TB test within the first month of employment.
